Multi-unit KFC and Pizza Hut franchisee will oversee the brand’s development throughout the region
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill®, an award-winning Mediterranean fast casual franchise, announced today that it has signed a master franchise agreement with the Beharry Group to establish the brand’s presence in Guyana and seven countries throughout the Caribbean including Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The Beharry Group is a distinguished international conglomerate headquartered in Guyana with interests in commercial and merchant banking, manufacturing, insurance, stock brokerage, automotive distributorship, and quick service restaurants. Helmed by Guyana native and chairman Suresh Beharry, the company was established more than 80 years ago, has over 4,000 employees, and manages a line of products sold throughout the Caribbean region.
Suresh Beharry and the Beharry Group are successful Yum! Brands multi-unit franchisees with a portfolio that includes 12 KFC® and 10 Pizza Hut® franchises, with six more units in active development. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is the company’s first foray into the fast casual space.

The Beharry Group is kicking off their development of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill with a restaurant in Georgetown – Guyana’s capital and largest city – expected to open later this year. The company plans to develop additional restaurants in the future and will bring on franchisees to expand The Great Greek’s presence in the other seven countries.
